DataGirls Melbourne vol.2

Join hundreds of Data Girls and use this opportunity to learn about data analytics from experts for free, no experience required. Under guidance  from experienced professionals, you will learn hands on how to create a basic BI project using all the presented tools and build your first reports and dashboards. You will have a chance to check out how the ETL works in Keboola and how to load the data from there to YellowfinBI  where you will prepare the final visualisation.

 

Data Girls workshop is a program proudly developed in Prague, Czech Republic as a collaboration between Czechitas non profit organization focused on education and enablement of women in technology space and Keboola.

Getting Acquainted With New Data Sets Using Yellowfin

4.5 hours (3 x 80 min session plus 2 x 15 min breaks)
 
Course Overview
This course will build on the introductory analytics and Yellowfin knowledge you gained the DataGirls workshop. You will learn techniques to help you explore and become familiar with a previously unseen data set. The ability to quickly explore and become familiar with a new data set is a core skill for any person working in analytics. During the course you will practice the techniques you learn using Yellowfin.
 
Target Audience
This course is intended for people who have attended a DataGirls workshop and want to learn more about working with data and how to use a analytics platform commonly used by organisations – Yellowfin.
 
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
  • Identify the dimensions, measures and other miscellaneous variables in a data set.
  • Explain the main steps to follow to explore and become familiar with a new data set using data visualisation techniques.
  • Explain the methods used to understand the values in the measure and dimension variables in a data set.
  • Explain the methods used to identify the relationship between measures and dimensions in a data set.
  • Explain which data visualisation methods are most useful to understand variables and the relationships between them.
  • Use the tabular reporting and charting functionality of Yellowfin to explore a data set.
